Having designed the first headquarters for Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. over 15 years earlier, ISD was once again entrusted to shape the brand’s next evolution when the organisation relocated to its new purpose-built headquarters at Wisma Mercedes-Benz.

Over the years, the company’s workforce, operational scale and workplace culture had evolved significantly, with the organisation expanding by more than 200%. The new headquarters therefore required a complete rethinking of how the modern workplace could support collaboration, efficiency, wellbeing and future growth.

Working closely alongside the building architects from the early stages of development, the design team carefully integrated sustainability principles throughout the project, contributing towards the building’s eventual LEED Gold Certification.

Despite its location within an industrial precinct, the workplace was intentionally designed to feel open, green and human-centric. A landscaped internal courtyard introduces natural light and calming green views deep into the office environment, while a rooftop garden seamlessly connects the workplace to the staff cafeteria and social spaces.

The interiors balance operational functionality with comfort and wellbeing, creating a highly efficient yet welcoming environment that supports both productivity and employee experience.

More than a corporate office, the headquarters reflects Mercedes-Benz’s progressive workplace philosophy, where sustainability, innovation and people-focused design come together within a contemporary automotive workplace environment.
